The temple can be visited throughout the year, but the Rath Yatra, which usually occurs in June or July, is a highly popular time to witness the grand procession of the deities on chariots.

The main deities in the temple are Lord Jagannath, his elder brother Lord Balabhadra, and their sister Subhadra.

It is advisable to dress modestly when visiting the temple. Wearing revealing clothing may not be appropriate, and it's customary to cover the head before entering the sanctum sanctorum.

The Rath Yatra, or Chariot Festival, is an annual event where the deities are taken out in grand processions on elaborately decorated chariots. It usually takes place in June or July.
